Thomson Reuters – IFR Markets has topped this week's 12-month currency forecast rankings with an accurate long-term view that the US dollar would weaken during 2011 to the advantage of both the Swiss franc and sterling.

"The bottom line was that we were looking for a weaker dollar and for cable to move up. What we couldn't have envisaged was the volatility we've seen this year, and also the fact that cable has been stymied by EUR/GBP
