Global head of FX Karlsson leaves Danske Bank

Amid a recent slew of FX layoffs, he exited the bank in November

Niklas Karlsson, global head of foreign exchange at Danske Bank, left the firm earlier this month, FX Week has learned.

He had worked as global head of foreign exchange trading since 2018 at the Danish bank. According to sources in the market, Karlsson exited the firm after Danske made roughly 40 redundancies in FX globally in November.

Karlsson’s career began as a senior foreign exchange dealer at Svenska Handelsbanken in 1987. He held various roles at the firm before moving to Sydkraft
