State Street hires Harry Xu for Asia FX

Harry Xu has joined State Street in Boston as a vice-president, covering foreign exchange in Asia, FX week has learned.

Xu moved to State Street in June from Nomura, where he was an associate on the emerging markets desk.

He was one of several traders in New York who were let go from the bank in April as it began implementing a $1 billion cost-reduction plan in its wholesale business.

Xu began working at Nomura in June 2014, as a summer analyst, rotating his time between the equities and FX
