Brian Quinif, a former foreign exchange trader at Nomura, has joined the currency trading desk at HSBC, FX Week has learned.

Quinif specialises in trading FX and interest rates in Latin America. It is understood that the New York-based trader was among several FX trading and sales personnel let go in April amid Nomura’s $1 billion cost-reduction plan in its wholesale business.
