Carolyn Rogers: set to take up the role on August 14

Canadian banking regulator Carolyn Rogers has been named the next secretary-general of the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision (BCBS), to take over when William Coen leaves later this year.

A 20-year management veteran of the financial services industry, Rogers will take up the leadership role on August 14 and will serve a three-year initial term.

At the same time, she will also become the chair of the BCBS’s Policy Development Group, a position currently held by Coen. The current secretary
