Three UK nationals were acquitted on October 26 of a conspiracy to fix prices and rig bids in the $5.1 trillion-a-day foreign exchange market.
A New York jury delivered a ‘not guilty’ verdict against Christopher Ashton, previously of Barclays, Rohan Ramchandani, formerly of Citi, and Richard Usher, who was employed at RBS and JP Morgan, after a near three-week trial and approximately two days of deliberation. The men faced up to a decade in prison and a $1 million fine.
