Chris Towner and Andrew Scott are set to join independent financial risk adviser JCRA as foreign exchange advisory specialists.

Towner and Scott move from money-transfer advertising-payment solutions provider HiFX.

Towner joined HiFX, where he was a director, in 2003. He started his career at Barclays as an FX trader in 1994, and spent more than eight years with the UK dealer.

Scott, meanwhile, joined HiFX in May 2006, as a foreign exchange dealer and went on to become an associate director in 2013, advising corporates and private equity firms on managing FX risk.

“We are seeing more and more businesses demanding neutrality when it comes to advisory services,” says Jackie Bowie, chief executive of JCRA.

JCRA, which has been delivering hedging and debt advice for the past 30 years, says financial providers are stepping back from providing advice on FX exposure and, as a result, buy-side clients are increasingly coming to them for advice.

“Foreign exchange risk is a priority for many of our clients and the investors we advise. Adding the expertise of Chris and Andrew to our already strong team will cement JCRA’s reputation as the go-to adviser to optimise their hedging strategy,” adds Bowie.
