Russell Blau will focus on global macro fund FX sales in his new role

Jumping ship: Russell Blau recently resigned from Barclays

Russell Blau, a director in foreign exchange hedge fund sales at Barclays, has left the bank after nearly nine years, FX Week has learned.

It is understood that Blau has joined HSBC as a senior vice-president, with a focus on global macro hedge funds in the currency space.

He will report to Tom Haskins, head of FX sales.

Blau began working in FX sales at Barclays in September 2008. Prior to that, he held a similar role at Lehman Brothers from July 2004.
