Velentza to head EC’s new financial stability unit

The European Commission's (EC) internal market and services directorate general has made a number of organisational changes to reinforce policy co-ordination and create a clearer structure.

Maria Velentza, currently head of the securities markets unit, which is responsible for the Markets in Financial Instruments Directive, has been promoted to head a new financial stability unit within the EC.
