HSBC names Brown global FX chief

Andrew Brown was named as its global head of FX in London last week.

The appointment is part of HSBC's plan to move to a more global model from its historically regional structure.

The move sees Brown leave his role as head of European and Middle Eastern FX, which he had been in for almost two years (FX Week, April 19, 2004). In his new post he reports locally to Mike Powell, head of global markets. Brown has been with the bank since 2000, when he joined from US investment bank Goldman Sachs, as
