Bear Stearns Plans New Far East Foreign Exchange Desk For 1994

U.S. investment bank Bear, Stearns & Company Inc. plans to open a foreign exchange desk in the Far East early next year, according to firm executives. Bear has considerably expanded its foreign exchange operation in New York and London since it started the group last year.

The development in Asia, tentatively slated for Hong Kong, according to foreign exchange director David Schoenthal, comes a little later than Schoenthal originally projected when he first joined Bear in 1992 (FX Week, June 12
