Standard Chartered Hires Two from Chase To Start London Currency Options Desk

Standard Chartered Bank in London has hired Chase Manhattan Bank's London options chief, Alan Hicks, and his deputy, Ross McDonald, to start an options trading operation in major currencies, according to the bank's foreign exchange manager, Derek Saville. The move is in line with previously announced plans to expand in FX options and in derivatives (FX Week, March 14).

The appointment of Hicks and McDonald is the fruit of StanChart's search for one or two major names in options that the bank
