DLJ Hires Team from UBS In New York To Launch Forex Trading Operation

NEW YORK--Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette (DLJ) has hired a team of about 10 traders and sales dealers from Union Bank of Switzerland to start a new foreign exchange operation in New York, according to sources. The team, led by UBS's FX and precious metals manager Ken Gettinger, marks the first en masse defection of UBS FX staff ahead of the planned merger with Swiss Bank Corp (SBC).

Chief dealer Steve Jury is among the team which, in addition to Gettinger and his assistant, includes Swiss franc
