ING Barings in London has named Mark Fisher as global head of foreign exchange sales and trading. Fisher was previously joint regional head of debt trading and head of local markets at the bank. However officials have declined to comment on the appointment and the bank's press office did not return calls.
Andrew Baptiste is joining Morgan Stanley Dean Witter in New York as a senior technical analyst, starting July 6. In his new position, Baptiste will report to Bill Brown. He was formerly at JP Morgan in a similar role, say sources.
Nick Allsop has joined BankAmerica in London on the forwards desk, reporting to Wayne Scott, managing director, head of forwards, confirms a spokesperson at the bank. Allsop was formerly with Nomura International in London, trading forward Japanese yen.
Norddeutsche Landesbank in London has hired Kirsty Gage as a money markets dealer, an official at the bank confirms. Gage was formerly at Matheson Bank, also in London, where she held a similar position. Gage joined the bank at the end of last month and reports to Bruce Gresswell, treasurer.
The London Clearing House has appointed four new shareholder representatives to its board: Richard Berliand, managing director of JP Morgan Securities; Vivian Davies, chief executive officer of Brandeis (Brokers); Catherine Fitzmaurice, managing director of Salomon Brothers International; and David Pearse, European managing director of Cargill Investor Services. Arnaud Chupin, managing director of Carr Futures, was reelected for a second term.
The New York Board of Trade has announced the election of 11 exchange members to its 26-member board of directors. Paul Dapolito, Brian Kurtzer, Michael Nugent, Charles Falk and Daniel Rosenblum have been elected to Class A membership. Meanwhile, the following members were elected to Class B membership: Roger Currado, Richard Dewling, Patrick O'Shea, W.B. Dunavant, Woods Eastland and Albert Weis.
Seattle-based Forex Digital Services has announced the appointment of Robert Scott Wilson as its president and chief executive officer. Judith Cordova, current acting president, will continue as chairperson of the board of directors. Scott Wilson recently left his position as head of FX sales with Nomura International in London. He and his family are currently in the process of relocating to Seattle. Prior to working at Nomura, Wilson had been a senior FX manager at NationsBank in Singapore and an associate director of FX at Swiss Bank Corporation. Forex Digital Services is a foreign exchange service bureau and communications centre for currency trading firms worldwide, providing brokers and banks with Internet technology services, integrated client-to-back office systems and 24-hour support.
