Dealers cautious on bonus expectations

Despite a good year for forex, a climate of poor earnings and job cuts in the wider investment banking community will take its toll on bonuses, said bank officials and recruitment consultants polled by FX Week. Most dealers can expect similar or reduced payouts compared with last year’s packages.

"It’s been a pretty poor year but FX has stood up quite well," said a senior FX sales dealer at a European bank. "It will depend on individual performance, but no one is expecting huge bonuses."
