TradAir's new CTO has extensive experience in the development of trading software

Sebastien Donadio has been appointed chief technology officer at TradAir, which provides pricing, distribution and white-label services to brokers and banks.

Donadio joins from algorithmic trading firm HC Technologies, where he was the head of software engineering, and will be based in New York.

His appointment comes as TradAir aims to increase its market share in the technology space.

Previously, Donadio worked at Societe Generale and as a quant technologist at high-frequency trading firm Sun Trading. He is also an adjunct professor in computer science at the University of Chicago, as well as at New York University’s department of finance and risk engineering.

“TradAir is excited to add Sebastien to our management team. Sebastien is a hands-on individual contributor, as well as a seasoned manager and an expert in our field,” says Viral Tolat, chief executive of TradAir.

“Sebastien will focus on growing our technology lead and addressing market needs in these interesting times,” he adds.

Tolat, a former chief technology officer and global head of products at Nex Group-owned EBS, joined TradAir earlier this year. He replaced the previous chief executive, Illit Geller, who co-founded the firm with Ayal Jedeikin in 2010. Geller stepped down from her role in June 2017.
