Veteran spot trader departs HSBC

Gareth Cook, a foreign exchange spot trader at HSBC in London, has left the bank after 26 years, as part of an ongoing programme to realise organisational efficiencies.

Cook has worked in electronic commerce for the past five years and was responsible for risk management in the e-commerce business until that process became automated, rendering his role redundant. He reported locally to Richard Anthony, global head of FX e-risk.
