Maher to join HSBC in FX strategy

HSBC has appointed Daragh Maher, formerly deputy head of foreign exchange strategy at Crédit Agricole Corporate and Investment Bank, to its FX strategy team in London.

Full details of Maher's new role and reporting line are not yet known, but he is expected to join HSBC in the coming weeks.

At Crédit Agricole CIB, Maher was based in London and reported to Mitul Kotecha, global head of FX strategy in Hong Kong. Prior to joining the French bank in 2004, he worked for Dutch bank ING, initially in
