CFTC starts SEF regulation discussions
The Commodity Futures Trading Commission’s (CFTC’s) Technical Advisory Committee began to lay the groundwork for rules that will eventually govern swap execution facilities (SEFs) on October 12, citing concerns over the new market structure.
The meeting addressed improving enforcement against disruptive trading practices under new powers granted to the CFTC by the Dodd–Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act.
