Wagner to Head Citibank's FX Options

Claus Wagner, formerly Citibank's Frankfurt treasury director, has moved to the bank's London office as head of FX options for Europe, bank officials confirm.

He replaces Mike Hargrove, who left Citi in July to join National Westminster Bank as global options chief.

Editor's note

: Wagner thereafter left Citi to join Deutsche Morgan Grenfell as head of global currency options trading. Wagner, who was initially based in Frankfurt, oversaw the shift of Deutsche's EMS options trading operation to London in mid-1995, and later started a currency options overlay operation for the bank.

In April 1997, Wagner joined Dresdner Kleinwort Benson in London as global head of G20 FX and currency options, where he remains today.

At DrKB, Wagner has consolidated much of the bank's global FX activities, and refocused in London to concentrate on options, proprietary trading and institutional sales.

Meanwhile, Hargrove retired earlier this year after five years as NatWest's global head of vanilla currency options.
