German hedge fund reform raises FX hopes

The new laws, due to come into effect next year, would make German as well as European funds of hedge funds available to the retail and institutional investor with minimum restrictions -- relaxing regulations on derivatives use and lowering tax barriers. This is likely to intensify a global trend towards greater alternative investment in institutional portfolios, said market participants.
