Credit Suisse names new CEO

Credit Suisse has appointed Tidjane Thiam as its new chief executive officer, to replace Brady Dougan when he steps down in June after eight years in the role. Thiam is currently group chief executive of London-based financial services group Prudential; a position he has held since 2009. A former minister of planning and development for the government of Côte d'Ivoire, Thiam worked at consultancy McKinsey & Company and insurer Aviva before joining Prudential as chief
