David Zanette and James Lofthouse are understood to be taking on Alex Jackson's former role at Citi as co-heads of European investor sales, foreign exchange and local markets, according to sources.

Based in London, Zanette and Lofthouse would report to James Bindler, global head of FX, and move from their respective roles as managing director of FX investor sales and director of FX investor sales, where they reported to Jackson.

Jackson had worked at Citi since 2002, having joined from Commerzbank, before leaving earlier this month. His future plans are not yet known.

Zanette joined Citi in 2008 from Dresdner Kleinwort, having previously worked at Credit Suisse and Credit Agricole. Lofthouse held roles at JP Morgan, Deutsche Bank and ING before joining Citi in 2009.

Meanwhile, Sam Hewson, head of UK, Nordic and Benelux corporate FX sales at Citi in London, has become a managing director.
