HSBC has dismissed Stuart Scott, head of FX trading in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, as a new wave of dismissals hits the industry in the wake of hefty fines from regulators.

Scott, who has worked at HSBC since 2007, is the latest casualty of the sprawling investigation into currency markets, which resulted in regulators levying fines of more than $4 billion on six banks last month.
