Deutsche hires Zinkin to co-head electronic trading
Deutsche Bank has appointed Martin Zinkin, formerly head of electronic foreign exchange strategy at BNP Paribas, as managing director and co-head of electronic trading in the markets electronic trading (MET) group.
Based in London, Zinkin began his role this month and reports locally to Robert Mandeno, global head of markets electronic trading. Zinkin's co-head is Jason Batt, who was previously sole head of electronic trading. Zinkin and Batt are now jointly responsible for the delivery of Deutsche's core e-trading capabilities, including pricing, quantitative market-making, internalisation and venue connectivity.
Zinkin had been at BNP Paribas since September 2012, reporting to Joe Bonnaud, global head of fixed-income quantitative research. Prior to that, he was global head of modelling and technology strategy at Nomura in London, where he worked for almost four years. He joined the Japanese bank from Lehman Brothers, where he had been head of quantitative research since 2000 in the bank's FX electronic trading business.
Deutsche created the markets electronic trading group in 2012, initially headed by Zar Amrolia before Mandeno returned from his New Zealand-based role last year to lead the group in London. Amrolia now co-heads Deutsche's fixed-income and currencies business with Wayne Felson.
