KCG Europe loses chief executive

KCG Europe's chief executive and managing director Robert Smith has left the company.

Based in London, Smith led the trading provider's European team following the merger of Knight Capital and Getco to form KCG earlier this year. Smith was previously Getco's head of Europe, having joined in 2001. He became chief technology officer in 2002 and in 2007 founded the company's Singapore office.
