Credit Suisse cuts staff in FX sales and trading

Credit Suisse has made a number of cuts to its foreign exchange business in recent days, including five staff in FX sales and trading in London.

Thomas Farrer, head of European hedge fund FX sales, is the most senior known official to be leaving Credit Suisse, and is joined by Steve Russell, who also worked in FX sales to hedge funds.

Farrer has been at Credit Suisse for more than six years, having joined from Bear Sterns, where he had held a similar role since 2004. Prior to that he worked at
