Deutsche hires in FX sales
Elena Oggioni, a former foreign exchange salesperson at Bank of America Merrill Lynch (BAML), has joined Deutsche Bank in London in a similar role. She will report to Vincenzo Maini, European head of banks within global finance and foreign exchange. Oggioni left BAML in May, having been at the bank for seven years. She originally joined from JP Morgan in 2005. Deutsche Bank declined to comment.
RBS sales head for North America departs
Craig Donaldson, managing director and head of foreign exchange sales for North America at Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS), has left the bank after seven years. Donaldson joined RBS in 2005 from Merrill Lynch to manage the Greenwich and Boston sales teams, initially reporting to Graham Broyd and Bradley Leek. Donaldson's plans are not yet known. His departure follows that of Robert Sinche, global head of FX strategy at RBS in Stamford, Connecticut, earlier this month.
BNP Paribas hires Morgan Stanley salesperson
BNP Paribas has hired Heather Orrico to join its real-money foreign exchange sales team in New York. Orrico will report to Wendy Rosen, head of real-money FX sales. She joins from Morgan Stanley, where she held a similar role. BNP Paribas declined to comment.
Legal & General appoints executive director
Legal & General Group has appointed Mark Zinkula, chief executive of L&G Investment Management (LGIM), as group executive director, effective immediately. "I am delighted that Mark is joining the board. As LGIM continues to build on its successes and expand internationally, Mark's insight and experience will be a valuable addition," says John Stewart, chairman of Legal & General.
Afme appoints ex-regulator to board
The Association for Financial Markets in Europe (Afme) has appointed Eddy Wymeersch as a non-executive director and senior adviser, effective immediately. Wymeersch was formerly chairman of the Committee of European Securities Regulators as well as chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Belgian Banking, Finance and Insurance Commission. He is currently chairman of the Public Interest Oversight Board in Madrid and a member of the board of Euroclear. "Europe's capital markets are experiencing unprecedented levels of regulatory change and we are delighted to appoint someone with Eddy Wymeersch's enormous experience of the financial markets to our board. His expertise and understanding of the role of European policymakers, in particular, will be invaluable to us as an adviser," says Gaёl de Boissard, chairman of Afme.
