Barclays appoints successor to Agius
Barclays has appointed Sir David Walker to succeed Marcus Agius as its chairman, following the latter's resignation in the wake of the recent Libor fixing scandal. Walker will become a non-executive director of the UK bank on September 1, and will then succeed Agius as chairman on November 1. His immediate priority will be the appointment of a new chief executive to succeed Bob Diamond, who resigned on July 3. Walker is currently a senior adviser to Morgan
