Newns promoted to chief operating officer at Currenex

Electronic foreign exchange trading platform Currenex has promoted David Newns to the position of chief operating officer, replacing Chip Lowry, who has taken on a more strategic role at State Street Global Markets, which owns Currenex.

Newns has held a number of roles at Currenex, initially in London and latterly in New York where he was in charge of integration. In his new role as chief operating officer, he reports locally to Clifford Lewis, chief executive of Currenex.
