BNP Paribas has appointed Joe Nash as head of foreign exchange structuring for Europe, replacing James Davison, who relocated to New York in January to become head of rates and FX structuring for the Americas.

Nash will be based in London and will report locally to Vincent Berard, head of rates and FX structuring in Europe. He brings experience in structuring FX products for corporates and joins from Barclays Capital, where he was vice-president in the risk solutions group in London, responsible for FX structuring.

Nash's start date at BNP Paribas has not yet been confirmed as he is still on gardening leave from Barclays Capital. His departure follows a number of changes in the bank's FX structuring business this year. Earlier this month it emerged four other structurers – Chris French, Anna Sourina, Adam White and Giovanni Amanti – had all left the bank.

Those departures came weeks after it was revealed Barclays Capital would merge its risk solutions group with its institutional FX structuring group, leading to the relocation of Amanti from Singapore to New York to head a combined FX structuring effort in the US.

Barclays Capital declined to comment.
