CIBC appoints Mondedeu to senior trading role

Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC) has appointed Manuel Mondedeu as executive director in foreign exchange trading in London.

He joins from BBVA Asset Management in Madrid, where he was head of FX and commodities. In his new role, he will report to Stephen Darling, managing director of FX trading, and will focus on short-term rates and forwards, according to an internal memo seen by FX Week.

Mondedeu has 12 years of experience in financial markets, with a focus on FX and commodities
