Standard Bank hires new CEO and president for Russia
MOSCOW - Standard Bank has hired Peter Ghavami to join as president and chief executive at ZAO Standard Bank in Moscow, the South African bank's strategic partnership in Russia.
Standard Bank said earlier this month it plans to become a 33% shareholder in Russian investment bank Troika Dialogue Group, subject to regulatory approval (FX Week, March 9). The partnership includes the proposed merger of ZAO Standard Bank (ZSB) into the Troika Group.
Ghavami will build up the bank's platform in Russia
