Saxo loses CIO

Steen Jakobsen is leaving his role as chief investment officer of Saxo Bank at the end of the month, after nine years with the firm.

Jakobsen is being replaced by David Karsbol, chief economist, who will head the strategy team and the fund management team from March 1. Karsbol is well placed for the role, having worked alongside Jakobsen since he joined Saxo Bank in 2003.

Karsbol has a master's degree in economics from the University of Copenhagen, where he specialised in finance
