Deutsche departure from Spanish FX sales

Maria Varela-Apraiz has emerged as a victim of the job cuts in Deutsche Bank's capital markets arm.

The London-based associate foreign exchange salesperson for Spanish corporate customers was made redundant early in December, according to a London-based headhunter. She had been at the bank since April, after she resigned from a similar post at Merrill Lynch (FX Week, March 10).

Last month Deutsche announced plans to slash 900 staff from the capital markets
