
First Boston Whittles New York Corporate Desk Down To One

First Boston Corp., which has been struggling to build a corporate foreign exchange desk in New York for over a year, whittled that operation down to just one trader last week, sources close to the bank say. At least six FX traders have been dismissed from the firm in the last few weeks, these sources maintain, including veteran foreign exchange dealer Axel Coym, and more changes are likely. A First Boston spokesperson declines to comment on the dismissals.
