St George launches FX institutional sales desk

SYDNEY -- Australia’s St George Bank launched an institutional FX sales desk earlier this month in a bid to expand into the Asian institutional market.

The bank hired Adrian Hardman as head of the desk, with a mandate to build a four-strong sales team by year-end.

"Starting with a small team, the desk is covering and expanding inter-bank offshore relationships as well as domestic fund and insurance business during the Asian and European time zones," Craig Busch, head of FX at St George in Sydney
