Euro banks dominate rankings

FRANKFURT -- European banks continue to dominate the world’s largest banks ranking, according to the latest survey from Bankers Almanac. They make up six of the top 10 banks ranked by total assets in US dollars.

Deutsche Bank continues to head the league with assets of $882 billion in April 2001, while other European players Credit Suisse Group and ABN Amro both reached the top 10 for the first time.

In the UK ranking, Royal Bank of Scotland climbed the league table to take the top spot. The firm
