Bankers Trust Posts Sharp Gains In 2nd QTR FX Trading Revenues

Bankers Trust recovered from a relatively lackluster first quarter, to post impressive gains from its foreign exchange trading operation in the second quarter. Bankers was one of just five U.S. banks that managed to improve upon their trading performance in the first quarter of the year. A less volatile and less active foreign exchange market largely cooled trading profits at most of the other U.S. banks (FX Week, July 18).
