The Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) reports total currency futures volume in August was 1,393,448 contracts, a 24.3 per cent decline from last year's 1,841,788 contracts. Year-to-date, total currency futures volume is off by 10.3 per cent. Total currency options volume fell by 15.3 per cent to 697,915 contracts in August from the 823,675 contracts traded during the same period a year ago.
