Lasser To Disband French Desk But Will Still Provide Franc Prices

Lasser, Marshall Inc. plans to dismantle its French franc/dollar brokerage section October 1 in response to dwindling commissions from that operation, according to sources inside the large brokerage firm.
One source at Lasser says senior management decided to allocate resources to other currencies that they felt would generate higher commissions, and that the five man French franc unit have been told they will be reassigned to other currencies.
