Upheavals For Reuters As Group Focuses On Internet


LONDON--Reuters plans to lay off, retrain and redeploy hundreds of staff this year in a worldwide repositioning of the information and technology group. Reuters says it intends to refocus its activities on internet delivery.

Other casualties of the shake up--although clearly not immediately--will be the present technology found in most dealing rooms.
