HSBC makes senior appointments

Stuart Gulliver has been named as head of global markets. Currently chief executive for investment banking and markets, Gulliver takes up the new post next month, and is set to move from Hong Kong to London in February.

Gulliver will be responsible for all the bank’s treasury and capital markets activities globally, reporting to Stephen Green, executive director of CIBM.

Tony Rademeyer becomes head of CIMB Asia-Pacific, based in Hong Kong. He will continue in his current position of treasurer for HSBC in London until February, when he will relocate for his new position.

Meanwhile, Brian Robinson has been appointed head of CIMB for North America. He is currently based in Hong Kong as co-head of CIMB Asia-Pacific but will move to New York when he takes up the new role in March.

Finally, Iain Stewart will take up the newly created position of head of transaction banking, also in March. Stewart is currently head of investment banking and markets at HSBC Securities in New York but relocates to London for the new job.

"The leadership offered by Stuart, Tony, Brian and Iain, along with the rest of our executive team, positions us even more strongly to extend existing client relationships and leverage HSBC’s geographic strengths and natural product linkages," said Stephen Green.
