Italian team snubs Merrill
Merrill Lynch had already circulated an internal memo to announce the hires of Andrea Anselmetti, Luca Pietrangeli and Ernesto Mercadente, who left Goldman in late February. But the three, who were to report to Patrick Baune, head of Merrill’s European, Middle East and Africa (Emea) client issuer group, were back at their desks at rival Goldman last Monday (March 17).
A spokesperson for Goldman Sachs said the three had changed their minds, while all three dealers declined to comment on the
