Three Italian Banks Set To Join Forces The Birth Of A New Forex Power In Italy?

A three-way banking merger in Italy announced last week will likely lead to a small amount of consolidation in the banks' treasury groups but a much stronger player in the markets, according to an insider at Banco di Roma, the largest of the merging banks. Banco di Roma will merge with the Cassa di Risparmio di Roma savings bank and the Banco di Santo Spirito later this year into a new entity to be called Banca di Roma.
