Sanwa FX head in charge as UFJ merger completes

LONDON/NEW YORK – Sanwa Bank’s London FX head Doug Bates has taken over as head of FX for UFJ Bank. The bank was created last week from the merger of Sanwa Bank and Tokai Bank. A third bank, Toyo Trust & Banking, now known as UFJ Trust Bank, completes the UFJ Group.
Forex dealers for UFJ Bank are now based at the former Sanwa Bank location at 55 Basinghall Street. They include Bates, Sanwa’s Suan Holmes and four former Tokai employees who relocated from Exchange Square in London last
