CIBC Builds Foreign Exchange In London With Plans To Add Central Bank Sales Desk

CIBC Wood Gundy is building its sales presence with hires in the UK and Europe, as well as starting a central bank sales desk in London by late October, says Peter Byrne, head of global institutional sales in London.

Byrne says the move is in line with the bank's effort to establish itself as a global North American institution. He adds there will be around two FX sales hires and two fixed income hires.

Roy Banse, formerly chief dealer at Bayerische Vereinsbank in Munich, joins the bank in London
