In 2020, bitcoin will hit $30,000, volatility will return to drive markets and the practice of last look will become increasingly marginalised, says David Mercer, chief executive officer of LMAX Exchange Group.

While languishing at around $7,300 at press time, the price of the cryptocurrency reached a peak of nearly $20,000 per bitcoin in late 2017, and Mercer forecasts the asset class is about to attract interest from serious institutional investors.
