Currency trading volumes surged across venues in August as China-induced financial wobbles spurred activity in foreign exchange, both in developed and emerging market currencies.

Average daily volumes (ADV) on EBS leapt above the $100 billion mark to see an increase of 22%, compared with July, and 17% higher than the same month of 2014. Hotspot saw a 20% month-on-month rise, with $28.5 billion ADV.
