Swap execution facilities (Sefs) saw record weekly volumes in August for non-deliverable forwards (NDFs) and FX options trades, as the industry noted an uptick in interest from buy-side firms willing to sign up to Sefs to execute electronically rather than via voice.

The Futures Industry Association (FIA) Sef Tracker for August noted a jump in volume for both products, totalling $201 billion in the last week of the month – a record since it launched in January.
